Heather Hurst Counselling provides culturally safe, compassionate, and holistic support for individuals, families, and communities.
Our practice honours and integrates Indigenous ways of understanding and healing through the principles of Two-Eyed Seeing — bringing together the strengths of both Indigenous and Western knowledge systems to create balanced, respectful, and meaningful healing experiences.
We are grounded in trauma-informed care, recognizing the impacts of historical and ongoing trauma while also centering the resilience, wisdom, and strength within Indigenous peoples, families, and communities.
We understand that healing is not only emotional or mental — it is also spiritual, cultural, and relational. Connection to land, ancestral teachings, culture, and community is an important part of wellness and is woven into all aspects of our work.
Inclusive & Welcoming Care
Heather Hurst Counselling honours the diversity and richness of the broader multicultural community. Our services are inclusive and welcoming to people from all backgrounds, identities, and lived experiences.
We strive to create a space where every person feels:
Seen
Heard
Valued
Respected
Safe to explore their healing journey
Through storytelling, traditional teachings, cultural practices, and compassionate connection, we foster healing and reconnection — to self, culture, community, and purpose.
Our approach is strength-based and compassionate, honouring the wisdom and medicine each person already carries within themselves.
